About Our Club

WELCOME!

Yes, another Rotary year is upon us—and with it comes another opportunity for the East Moline–Silvis Rotary Club to make a meaningful difference in our community and beyond.

For over a century, our Club has lived the Rotary motto of Service Above Self. Generations of East Moline–Silvis Rotarians have given their time, talents, and resources to improve the lives of others and strengthen our community. That legacy is something we should be incredibly proud of—and something we have a responsibility to carry forward.

As we begin another year of service, our challenge is not simply to preserve the traditions of the past, but to build upon them. Rotary International continues to evolve, and our Club must do the same if we are to remain strong, relevant, and prepared to serve the needs of our community.

As East Moline–Silvis Rotarians, our priorities should include:

Strategically aligning our Club with Rotary International by:

  • Building and sustaining a strong, engaged membership
  • Putting Service Above Self into action
  • Supporting The Rotary Foundation
  • Strengthening our relationships and partnerships within the community
  • And, of course, having fun along the way!

Continuing to strengthen our Club through:

  • Sound financial planning and stewardship
  • Strong governance and thoughtful policies and procedures
  • Effective communication and member engagement
  • Developing and encouraging future Rotary leaders

These goals cannot be accomplished by one person or one committee. They require the ideas, energy, talents, and commitment of all of us.

Our Club has taken the time to envision where we want to go and has developed a plan to help guide us. But a plan only becomes meaningful when our members become actively involved. Someone saw in you the qualities of a person who would care about others, serve your community, and make a difference—and invited you to become a Rotarian.

Now it is our turn to live up to that invitation.

I encourage each of you to become involved, share your ideas, participate in our service projects, support your fellow Rotarians, and help shape the future of our Club. Together, we can honor the remarkable legacy of those who came before us while building an even stronger East Moline–Silvis Rotary Club for the generations who will follow.

For more than 100 years, our Club has made a difference. With your involvement, we can make an even greater difference in the years to come.
